Pavlova Wind Quintet: A Locally Acclaimed Ensemble

The Pavlova Wind Quintet is an established chamber ensemble based in Oxfordshire, England, known for its enterprising and diverse repertoire.
Formed in 1999, the quintet has built a strong reputation for its engaging performances and adventurous programming, which often explores less-common works for wind instruments alongside classical staples. The group is a regular feature in concert series and events throughout Oxfordshire and has undertaken concert tours to twin towns in France and Germany. In 2025 we visited Kolkota to play for the Mahtieson music school. Here is a link to a TV interview there.

https://search.app/Jua9apZWCKiEy5JP7The name “Pavlova Wind Quintet” has a charming local origin, derived from Anna Pavlova Close in Abingdon, the street where one of the founding members resides and where early rehearsals took place.
The quintet has a discography that includes a CD titled “Pavlova Presents…,” featuring new arrangements for wind quintet. They also maintain an active online presence with a YouTube channel showcasing their performances.

Pavlova Quintet has for many years played in the Sheldonian Theatre as the final event of Oxford Preservation Trust‘s ‘Open Doors’ weekend in early September.
